The township of Schoeneck counts some 12.000 inhabitants and results from the combination of the formerly independent towns of Buedesheim, Kilianstaedten and Oberdorfelden. Schoeneck is located about 20 km away from Frankfurt and about 10 km from the town centre of Hanau.

The surface area surrounds 2150 ha, which includes 225 ha of forests. Altitude is between 114 und 141 metres, highest landmark is the “Teufelskopf” (devil’s head) at 188m altitude. The township is connected through the highways B 521 and L 3008. The recreation areas Taunus, Vogelsberg and Spessart is in 45 min driving range.
